Enjoy Life

India V2

From Flowers to Cauliflowers

The other day I was walking my way to the college. There was a small gathering by the side of the road. It was the portion of the road where vegetable vendors make melees to make our meals possible. Curiously, I took a glimpse and moved on. There was a foreigner gentleman trying hard to capture something in his camera. Ok, in front of him was his friend, in green saree, with hair neatly arranged till shoulder, holding one big cauliflower in her hands, and branding a broad smile. And people were standing all around.

I guessed the nearest X.Y.Sena wallahs would be counting what % of the crowd were migrants. And those in their we-would-reach-today cars would be cursing the encroaching vegetable wallahs. And the HT photographers, looking a ‘mob’ in the ‘crowd’, would be rushing in, with advance intimation to the editor of capturing some breaking molestation case. In the meanwhile what was really happening?

With television penetration of 45%, and 12000 cinema halls for a billion people, Indians won’t be getting that much entertainment after all. And given that 54% of Mumbai lives in slums, a morning cutting chai shouldn’t be enough. Ok, 15% of us have mobile phones – to le lo photu free mein! Then, the best thing we can do is to – enjoy life!

Let us enjoy such small incidents instead of frowning at the traffic, blaming migrants, or searching for some conspiracy.

Long live Indian roads!
